Hi Everybody,
We were busy in the clubhouse last week and this week may be the same. It is nice to see activity picking up at the clubhouse and some of the old members returning after two years. Welcome back everybody!
As many of you are now aware, one of our newer members Lizzy C. passed away a week ago. There will be a Celebration of Life this Saturday February 19 at 2 pm. at Shooters on East Orvis Street. We are grateful we had the chance to get to know Lizzy and send our condolences to her family.
Don't forget this Saturday at 11:30 am is the New NA Meeting. They are off to a good start and have generated a lot of interest. If you have not been to the clubhouse parking is behind the building and enter through the back door. Thanks to Hannah H and Ciera S. for getting the meeting going. By the way, welcome Pat S.
Then on Sunday February 20 there is a 1 pm AA. Right after the meeting Laurel R. will hold a Narcan Training for clubhouse members followed by dinner. Sue L is making Chili and Willie M is making is awesome salad. Does anyone want to volunteer for dessert? Thanks to Ice Cream Steve we have ice cream and Sherbet to go with just about anything. We know the card games will start soon after as Gaeton R. has become a permanent fixture at the card table. We hear Bob M is coming Sunday and Josh S. wants to learn how to play. David D. is even starting to play cards.
Last Saturday, Char B. held a great Craft day for some of us. We left with a finished product for Valentines Day . Thanks for all your hard Char. We appreciate it. It was great to Lois J. and Jane F. and Carol H. Thanks for the cookies Carol H. Our next craft day has not been decided but we did manage to talk Jane F into holding a beginners Quilt runner class. If you are interested in that let Sue L know. cost and dates are yet to be determined. The Next day we had a Spaghetti Dinner after the AA Meeting. Of course Willie M made a great salad and we had all kinds of ice cream for dessert. Thanks Kathleen M for cleaning up the kitchen and doing all the dishes. Also it was great to see Cuza G. After dinner we watched Four Good Days which sparked a lot of conversation.(Some people were even going home to watch it again.) Any suggestions for another movie? We promise we will make the popcorn next time. We did not have a Superbowl Party as most people did not feel comfortable in a a larger group. Maybe next year we can get back to normal.
We had to change the locks last week. Thankyou Doug K. for handling that for us and Mike R for taking care of the code entries. We have notified most people of the changes so we are good to go opening and closing the meetings .
Finally our big surprise... Blayne F has volunteered to cook for the clubhouse . Blayne is a great Chef and is planning something special for a Sunday Dinner. This will be sometime in March and we will get the menu details out to you soon. We may have to charge a few bucks depending on what Blayne decides to do . If you don't have the money, we have you covered. No one will be turned away. Maybe we can tie this in with St. Patrick's Day!!
