Hi Everybody,
It's that time again... while we are not up to speed yet but we are happy we have a report to share!! Here's what is happening.
This Sunday we will serve a Lazagna Dinner after the 1 pm AA Meeting. Ice Cream Steve still gets a pass on the ice cream week.
(We did manage to finish off one container last week but we still have two to go!! ) Sue L will be cooking and Michelle P. will be on hand to help set upon Sunday. Please bring a dish to pass if you can. Jim R. is bringing Ceasar's Salad (Willie M. has a salad break) and we have garlic bread so all we need is side dishes and desert. Last week we set up one table in the meeting room and also the TV tables so whatever your preference for social distancing is covered!! See everyone Sunday
The following Saturday November 20, St John's Parish invited us to a Ham and Scalloped Potato dinner. 23 people have signed up for the dinner. Friday is the last day to sign up so call Sue L right away if you are interested. Thank-you to club member Pam B. the cook and Mother Sonya for the invitation. The past two dinners have been awesome and we are so grateful to be included.
Then on Thursday November 25 we will enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner at St. Mary's Parish Hall. Thank-you to Sylvie M and Father Mark for letting us use the Parish Hall. Bob F. has donated two turkeys and Sue and Danny L donated one turkey so we should be good for the both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Elks Club also has donated 100.00 dollars toward our dinners so we are off to a good start. Anyone who is interested in attending a dinner please bring a dish to pass. We will provide turkey, stuffing, potato's and gravy. We are in need of side dishes, desserts and beverages. Sue L is coordinating the dish to pass list so let her know your plans. So far Gisela has signed up to bring deviled eggs and I am sure Willie M. is on the salad!! Thanks to Bob F. and the Elks Club for their generous donations. Also thanks to Sara M., Danny L. and Josh S. for cleaning out the freezer to make room for the turkeys and bringing the garbage to the road last week.
Last Sunday 16 people showed up for our Sub and chips luncheon. Thanks to Char B. and Sue L for setting up the lunch. Delma W. made another great dessert and of course ice cream was included. So nice to see some new faces and people returning. . Welcome and welcome back Colin, Eric, Brian, Kenny, Carol, Shauna, and Kathleen. Great to see everyone . Gaeton R. showed up late and all the card players had gone home. Needless to say Danny L and Gaeton R. were a little disappointed. So we cleaned up, packed up and closed the clubhouse early. Hopefully this week a good game can get going!
Char B. is buy working on a craft fundraiser before the holidays. Once she has the details worked out we can start signing people up so watch for details. Becki B will also be setting up the store for people to look around for holiday gifts She is also thinking about re-naming the store. ... can't wait to hear what she has in mind. The clubhouse has not been open full time for a least 18 months but we still had expenses during this time. If anyone has any extra change and can make a donation, it would help us out until we can get going again. We are on the come back trail but need a little boost .....
Finally meeting attendance is really picking up. Please join anytime. Use the back door and wear a mask. If you do not have one we have a box at the sign in table.
