This 'Week @ 39 Serenity Place

Hi Everybody,

I hope everyone stayed cool this week... it sure was hot one. This Weekend should cool off just in time for the Jim Brady Picnic!

This Sunday August 15 many of us will be attending the Jim Brady Picnic at the Waddington Beach. If you need a ride be sure to let us know so we can make arrangements to get you there. As usual Bring a dish to pass and a chair ( there are picnic tables ) .Then right after stop by our campsite at Coles Creek Site 246 for a Campfire and smores if you are still hungry !! Hope to see you there.

Last week we had a great time at the Anniversary Picnic for Delma, Lois and Willie. It was great to see so many people came we haven't seen in a long time . Charlie C. nice to see you and move over Dusty R., Kathleen M. brought the doughnuts!! As usual we had a lot of food and desserts. ( it was a real sugar fest). So much food that Laurel R. passed out some food to campers across the street. Mike R. and Thanks to Char B. for grilling the hotdogs and burgers, Tangie and Laurel for cleaning up, and Eddie S for taking the garbage to the dumpsters. Naturally Gaeton R. showed up so there were some card games going on most of the day. Once it started to rain the party was over. Thanks to the card players who noticed a storm was coming so we could pick up all the chairs while they continued to play cards!! Even though it rained for a about 15 minutes, the place cleared an out and again ... no campfire.

Pam B. donated a big container of Folgers coffee and has offered to cook a dinner for our Clubhouse Anniversary in early September. Thanks Pam . Watch for details. Also watch for details about our Dinner and Meeting we are organizing for the Fall. Thanks to Tangie for cleaning the kitchen this week. It is really appreciated. Also don' forget if you need want a belt or sandals, stop by the clubhouse. We still have some left to distribute.

Lots of planning going on as we start to add more activities and meetings. However we will continue to monitor the Delta Variant and follow suggested guidelines as necessary. Masks and hand sanitizer are always available.

Meetings are steady so we hope to add a few more in the Fall. (We have had a lot of out of town visitors lately which has been great.)
